The short answer

Booke AI is an AI bookkeeper you add as a user in QuickBooks Online: it categorizes the transactions coming in through the bank feed every day, matches them to invoices, bills and receipts, and asks the client about the ones it can't place. Nexora Recon starts from the other end: it takes each client's monthly bank and card statements and checks every line against QuickBooks Online, so you know the books agree with the bank before you close the month. One keeps the feed tidy; the other proves the month is right. Many firms would use both.

Why the statement still matters

A bank feed is a copy of the bank's data, and copies go wrong: feeds disconnect, transactions arrive twice, a manual entry duplicates a feed entry, or a month is missing entirely. Categorizing the feed well doesn't tell you whether the books match what the bank actually says. The statement does. That's why the month-end reconciliation is done against the statement's ending balance, and why Nexora Recon checks every line of it.

If your clients' feeds are clean and your problem is the volume of categorizing, a feed tool fits. If your problem is knowing, for every client, that the month is right and which statements you're still waiting for, a statement check fits. If it's both, they don't overlap much.

Which one to choose

Frequently asked questions

Is Booke AI a reconciliation tool?

Booke AI describes itself as an AI bookkeeper that categorizes and matches bank-feed transactions in QuickBooks Online and Xero, and keeps the work ready for period-end reconciliation. Nexora Recon does the statement-to-books check itself.

Can I use Booke AI and Nexora Recon together?

Yes. They work on different things: Booke AI on the bank feed, Nexora Recon on the monthly statements. Nexora Recon reads QuickBooks Online as it is, whatever categorized the entries.

Which is cheaper for a firm?

Booke AI lists $129 per business per month and prices its firm plan on request. Nexora Recon is $19 per client company per month with a 10-company minimum.

Does Nexora Recon categorize transactions?

It suggests a payee and category for statement lines missing from the books, and your team approves them. It doesn't categorize the bank feed day to day.
